Golf Club At Cinco Ranch, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Katy, Texas. The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch is located within the 5,000-acre Cinco Ranch master-planned community on Houston's west side.
The course first opened for play in 1993. Cinco Ranch was design by Houston-based architect Carlton Gipson.
The 18-hole, par-71 golf course features a rolling layout that will challenge low handicappers while still offering the average player or beginner the opportunity to play an enjoyable round of golf.
The course has a wide variety of holes without squeezing them between out-of-bounds markers. In most cases, following the intended line of play takes OB completely out of play. Only three holes are marked by white stakes on both sides. Gipson's design features a surprising (and pleasing) amount of roll, with several holes having elevation changes of 15 feet. The elevation changes help ensure an interesting round of golf. This course features four ponds and a creek and that come into play on sixteen holes.
From the blue tees the course plays to 6,922 yards, 6,396 from the whites and 5,167 yards from the reds. The front 9 is a par 36 and the back is a par 35.

Tee boxes and fairways are in good shape. Greens are in bad shape. I know we had a worse than average winter, but other greens in the area faired much better. The layout of the course is very good and will be fun to play when the greens get better. Their on-line tee time system sucks, it will let you reserve a tee time even though they already have a foursome booked.

Solid course day in and day out. The greens have been in pretty poor condition but are getting much better. Great mix of holes with several risk/reward challenges. I recommend playing this course during the week since pace of play can be a problem.

The course conditions at the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch were much improved since my last round here several years ago, but the increase in price reflects that.
The course was in overall excellent condition, especially the greens, which were very quick but rolled smoothly and held the line on well struck putts.
The only negative I experienced was the staff seemed somewhat indifferent. They acted like you should know where everything is and don-t bother me with silly questions about which way is the 10th tee!

The greens had just been aerated so they did not roll as true as one should expect.

The layout is fine and the price for seniors is good. Houses come into play occasionally but in most case only with the most errant shot. However, the greens are HORRIBLE and the pace of play is from slow to unbearably slow. It is overbooked and under-marshalled. I am not the fastest or best player by any mans but there a lot of people who seem to be playing for the first time ever out on the course. I lie the course and when the greens are in better shape I will probably play again. However, I will be extremely careful about when. I do not need 5 hour rounds.
